Engagement Dinner

My friends at Bungay School had an engagement dinner for me and two other girls that are getting married. It was so much fun!! We went to Brookside Restaurant in Oxford and had a great meal - salad bar, appetizers, dinner and dessert...and a little wine! We received our first engagement/wedding gift. Here it is:

Beautiful Bride - Plainville, CT

On Saturday, MJ and I went to Beautiful Bride in Plainville. I had an appt. to try on and pick up my bridesmaids dress for Kara's wedding. While we were there, the woman working asked me if I wanted to try on wedding gowns!!!!!!!!! I was slightly hesitant, but figured, what the heck...why not?!?! I tried on about 6 dresses. It was very surreal, but lots of fun! Nothing picked out yet....

Erik Maziarz it is!!

We met with wedding photographer Erik Maziarz tonight and booked him! He seems like a great guy - easy going and extremely nice!! We are very excited!!!! Here is a link to his blog:

Wedding Photographer

We're on our way to meet with a possible wedding photography tonight. He comes highly recommended from Tony. Look out for another post tonight....we may have a decision!!

Wedding Mail

Today we received a package in the mail from Jonathan at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills. It included a congratulations letter and a whole bunch of info about preferred vendors.

Tony will be a part of our wedding party so unfortunately he can't be our wedding photographer. Don't worry, he so kindly offered to do our engagement photos!! (Did he really have a choice??)

Ben and I found the perfect place!!

We're Engaged!!!

Ben proposed to me on Friday, April 3, 2009!! Here's how it happened:

On my way home from work, I called Ben to make sure he had picked up the shower gift that I asked him to. We got into an argument because Ben accidentally bought the wrong thing! So, I hung up the phone a bit frustrated, drove home and sat at the computer to figure out what I was going to do about exchanging this gift.

In the meantime, Ben got home and rushed in the door. He was much later that usual...when I asked him "why?" he gave me some silly reasons. Anyways, I stood up and said, "Ben I have to show you something." He said, "No, I have to show YOU something!" Then he asked, "Do you want to sing that song you always sing?" {For those of you that don't know, I like to annoy Ben and sing "Someday (instead of somewhere) Over the Rainbow".... meaning "someday" we'll get engaged.}

So anyways, I said, "No, why would I want to sing that?" He simply replied, "What if someday was now?" I yelled, "What???" As he got down on one knee I then realized what was happening. "Will you marry me?" he said. Again I yelled, "Are you serious???....and began sobbing rather than saying "yes!" Ben, also crying, said, "well, will you?" Finally I said, "YES!!"
